Dave was part of the core group of the cross country team. Along with Bob Eastman, Darian Dawson Bob Van Horne, Harold Crangle and others this group usually competed for top honors in the league championships. Dave was referred to as "Easter Egg" for obvious reasons. I was impressed with his endurance given the fact that he had chronic sinus problems which were exacerbated while running. He was also a member of the track team. Francine is right, in retrospect there is a little of "Harry Potter" in him. He has earned his golden winged track shoes!
